Mental Health

Updated: Nov 15, 2021

What does it mean to you?

Mental health means a great difference to so many people.

Maybe mental health is going out with your friends, reading a book, going for a walk, prayer, taking time for yourself, meditation, yoga, going to the gym, volunteering, or so many other various options.

Whatever it may be, it’s so important to take time out of your day to do what makes you happy and makes you enjoy life. It doesn't have to take a ton of time out of your busy day. This could be something as simple as a 5-minute stretching session next to your desk.

Another thing to recognize is that living in the past or the future could be detrimental because it can give us extra anxieties and worries that could be avoided. Along with this, depression has been linked to an increased risk for various diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, and even stroke (1).

Being present in the day and doing something you love each day can contribute to overall health and how you view life as a whole, leading to a more positive outlook.

Being mentally healthy is something we should all strive to do. Too many of us are focused on poor mental health conditions and being mentally unwell. We should be moving in a direction that prevents those scenarios and benefits the mind every day.

What do you do to stay mentally healthy?
